Bill, Kara, Jordan, Kevin, Tate

TCT is run by a five-person board of Directors:

Kevin Miller

Kevin Miller first began playing tennis while in college and continues to play multiple times a week throughout the year.  In 2021 he retired from the private-practice of law and turned to tennis as a way to keep himself busy in retirement.  He currently is the freshman/sophomore tennis coach at Morton High School and the volunteer coach for the high school’s junior varsity squad. In 2021 he formed Tri-County Tennis, Inc. with friends Jordan Nestrud and Tate Hohulin. Kevin lives in Morton with his wife Amanda.

Jordan Nestrud

Jordan Nestrud began playing tennis in 8th grade on the advice of his baseball coach, and never looked back.  As a high schooler, he qualified for the state tournament three times, with his best finish in the top 16 state-wide. He earned a tennis scholarship at Eastern Illinois University, making the all-conference team for the Ohio Valley Conference in 2008. His record in the Tri-County Tennis Tournament is unparalleled, amassing an amazing 9 mens singles open titles, and countless titles in doubles and mixed doubles. He served as the assistant boys tennis coach at Morton High School (2016-2018) and head coach (2019-2021). Jordan lives in Morton with his wife Siera and their two children.

Kara Knepp

Tate Hohulin

Tate Hohulin began playing tennis while in junior high school and played three years of varsity tennis at Morton High School under head coach Joal Stanfield. He was (and remains) well-known for his fierce backhand, and earned the right to compete in the IHSA state tournament as a doubles player. Tate continues to play tennis recreationally and enjoys volunteering his time on the Tri-County Tennis, Inc. board of directors as a way to give back to his local tennis community.  A pharmacist by trade, Tate lives in Morton with his wife, Melissa, and their daughter.

Bill Poorman

Bill Poorman started playing tennis in middle age in order to stay fit and quickly became hooked on the game. As an advocate for adult recreational tennis, he organizes a group of over 100 adult doubles players to play indoors on winter evenings. The group is currently in its third year. In 2023 Bill brought his evening tennis organization under the penumbra of Tri-County Tennis, Inc. and joined TCT as a member of the board of directors. Bill lives in Peoria with his wife, Margaret.
